In short

Arvutaja.ee sets no cookies in your browser until you accept them. If you decline, none are ever set — and the site works exactly the same either way.

Every calculation runs on your own device. The numbers you type — salary, weight, loan amount — never leave your browser and never reach our server.

What we collect

To learn which calculators are useful, we store one row per page view: which calculator was opened, in which language, the device class (phone, tablet, computer), which site you arrived from (domain name only) and when.

We also store what people type into the search box. The most valuable of these are the searches that return nothing — they tell us which calculators we are missing.

This counter holds no IP address, no browser identifier, no cookie and no identifier tying a row to a particular person. It stores nothing on your device, which is why it does not ask for consent.

Google Analytics

For an overall picture of traffic we use Google Analytics 4, running in consent mode v2. Before you choose, and after you decline, every kind of storage is denied: Google Analytics sets no cookies and mints no persistent identifier, and each page view reaches Google as a separate anonymous ping that cannot be joined to your previous or next visit.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_…, which last up to two years and hold a randomly generated identifier. That lets us tell new visitors apart from returning ones. The advertising permissions stay denied either way — there are no ads on this site and no reason for us to ask.

Your browser contacts Google's servers in both cases, and that unavoidably reveals your IP address. Google uses it to derive an approximate location (country, city) and does not store it in Google Analytics 4. Arvutaja.ee is the data controller; Google Ireland Limited is the processor.

If you would rather avoid even the anonymous pings, block googletagmanager.com in your browser or ad blocker settings. The site works exactly the same either way — no calculator depends on that script.

The app

The Arvutaja app on iOS and Android also calculates on your own device and works without a connection. The numbers you type never leave the phone.

The app reports to the same counter the site uses: which calculator was opened, in which language, what was searched for and which button was pressed. Those records carry no account, no device identifier, no install identifier and no IP address — exactly as on the site. That is why the app asks for no consent either.

There are no cookies, no ads and no accounts in the app. On launch it asks Expo's server whether an update exists; that request carries nothing about you beyond the platform and a version number.

Error reports

When the site or the app crashes, an error report is sent to Sentry so we can find the fault and fix it. The report contains the error, the line of code where it happened, and the device and software version.

The IP address is removed before sending. No username, email or other identifier is sent, the screen is not recorded, and form contents are not attached. A technical error message can occasionally mention the number that caused the fault; nothing else you typed is sent.

Error reports are what keep the site and the app working at all, and they store nothing on your device. That is why they do not depend on cookie consent.

What none of them sees

The numbers you type. Salary, weight, loan amount, week of pregnancy, a car's CO₂ figure — all of it is computed in your browser and sent nowhere: not to us, not to Google. There are no accounts and no sign-in here, so there is nothing to attach them to either.

Where the data lives

Our own counter's data is in the European Union (Stockholm). The site is hosted on Vercel and the database on Supabase.

Google Analytics pings are processed by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred outside the European Union under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

GDPR rights — a copy, correction, erasure — assume you can be found in the data. We hold no identifier tying a record to a person, so we cannot locate or delete your rows. That is not a refusal: no such rows exist in a form that is yours.

Accuracy

Arvutaja.ee gives an indicative result based on official rates. Every tax calculation shows its source and the date it was last verified. For decisions that matter, check with an accountant or the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.
